Kdy jste se začala zabývat designem a co vás k tomu vedlo?

Podľa datovania mojej mami asi tak v troch rokoch. :D Viedli ma k tomu zrejme gény. Neskôr som sa sústretila výhradne na ilustrovanie domácej četby. Boli to asi moje prvé (a zatiaľ) posledné komiksy, lebo dej na seba nadväzoval. Aj keď je v súčasnosti pre mňa dosť zložité identifikovať, aký dej tam vlastne prebiehal. Vizualizácia mojich predstáv ma teda sprevádza od útleho detstva, bolo pre mňa prirodzené, že som sa k tomu vrátila a začala sa tým živiť. Predtým som však musela vyštudovať nejaké remeslo. Kresliť vie v našej rodine úplne každý, no nikto sa tým neživí, takže sa to nepokladalo za niečo výnimočné a nikto tomu ani nevenoval extra pozornosť.

Jaké byly vaše začátky?

Dosť ťažké. Odišla som pracovať do tlačiarne rovno od šijacieho stola. Mala som len hmlisté predstavy, čo chcem robiť a DTP bol pre mňa záhadný, cudzí pojem. Našťastie mali so mnou trpezlivosť a ja som mala dostatok času všetko sa naučiť. Vrátane ovládania nejakých grafických editorov a vyrovnania sa s kritikou, či odmietnutím zo strany zákazníkov. Ale koľko pokazených filmov a pauzákov tam po mne ostalo, ani nechcem vedieť. :D

Jaké vybavení používáte?

Notebook, tablet a Corel programy. Návrhy web stránok som si zvykla robiť v GIMPe.

Jakým způsobem jste získávala své první zakázky? Vím, že na začátku je nejtěžší ulovit několik prvních zákazníků.

Nezačínala som ako živnostník, takže som nezháňala zákazky, ale firmu, čo ma zamestná. Posielala som maily so životopisom a referenciami, kde sa dalo. Zo začiatku sa mi nikto neunúval ani odpísať. Ale keď som získala nejaké skúsenosti a referencie v tlačiarni, bolo to jednoduchšie. Dostala som prvú veľkú ponuku na spoluprácu v alternatívnom vydavateľstve LCA. Podmienkou bol živnostenský list a presídlenie do Bratislavy. Pre človeka z dediny, čo celý život poriadne nevystrčil päty z domu, to bola teda poriadna výzva.

Ako živnostníčka som získavala ďalšie zákazky jedine cez internet. Založila som si web stránku, písala som blog... a išla som riadne pod cenu. Bolo to preto, lebo som nemala predstavu o tom, koľko si mám pýtať. Cenovú politiku som zmenila až potom, keď som si uvedomila, že robím veľa, no pokrývam ledva nájom, stravu a odvody.

strong>Kdy se vám povedlo získat prvního významného zákazníka, u kterého jste si řekla: "jo, to je přesně ono!"

Zatiaľ takého nemám. Vlastných zákaziek mám málo. Väčšinou spolupracujem s firmami. Takže ak aj pracujem na niečom zaujímavom, nie je to môj klient, ale klient firmy. Každá spolupráca však bola v niečom zaujímavá. Napríklad práca pre LCA, kde som mala prakticky vo všetkom voľnú ruku. Stretávala som zaujímavých ľudí, spisovateľov, umelcov, intelektuálov. Neskôr som mala možnosť vidieť, ako sa malá firmička s on-line biznisom o šiestich ľuďoch s viac-menej ľubovoľným pracovným časom mení na dvojsmennú prevádzku, kde sa počas dňa vystriedalo cca 40 zamestnancov. V súčasnosti spolupracujem s reklamnou agentúrou v Bratislave. Človek si musí zvyknúť na tvrdú komerciu, nadčasy, musí rešpektovať požiadavky klientov, ktoré sú často s dobrým vkusom nezlučiteľné. Na druhej strane je to kompenzované lepším finančným ohodnotením. Zúčastniť sa fotenia, alebo vidieť ako sa točí reklamný spot tiež nie je na zahodenie.

Jak jste oslovovala na začátku (bez referencí) své potenciální zákazníky?

Prví zákazníci boli z môjho blízkeho okolia. Žijem na dedine, takže to boli zväčša susedia. A oslovovali väčšinou oni mňa, pretože na dedine sa také veci šíria ústnym podaním. Získala som ich - ako inak - na nízke ceny, alebo prácu zadarmo.

Který informační kanál považujete při oslovování zákazníků za primární?

Jednoznačne internet.

Jakou zakázku považujete v dosavadní práci za nejzajímavější a proč?

Bestofku zatiaľ nemám. Každá práca má niečo do seba, ale nikdy to nie je dosť. Najviac som si asi užila výzdobu literárneho stanu na Hodokvase v roku 2007. Bolo to naozaj veľké. Nikto ma poriadne nekontroloval a pre časovú tieseň s ňou boli nakoniec všetci spokojní. :D Náš stan bol dosť veľký, pre nepriaznivé počasie sa v ňom zišla pekná kopa ľudí, ktorí by za iných okolností do čitárne, kníhkupectva alebo divadla nešli. Nakoniec sa tam ale všetci skvele bavili a to bola akási odmena pre nás všetkých, čo sme sa na tom nejakou mierou podieľali.

Tento rok to bola účasť na reklamnej kampani Lucka - Tvoj vodný anjel. Aj keď ja som v tomto prípade plnila len úlohu détépáka makača. :D V závere roka to zas bola príprava ilustrovaného nástenného kalendára pre deti, na ktorej som sa spolupodieľala ilustráciami.

Ale najviac ma asi bavia tie projekty, ktoré robím z čisto sebeckej potreby nejako sa realizovať. Napríklad H2G2.sk, rozbiehajúci sa internetový sprievodca galaxiou, ktorý som odizajnovala a teším sa na pridávanie vtipných textov. :D Alebo môj blog Grafickeprace.info.

Kam jste se za poslední rok posunula? V čem a co k tomu vedlo?

Som komerčnejšia. Začínam si zľahčovať prácu a miesto vymýšľania niečoho nového, používam módne efekty. Asi to súvisí s typom práce, ktorú v tomto čase vykonávam.

Co byste doporučila začínajícímu designérovi pro úplný začátek?

Nemať prehnané očakávania a nároky. Hlavne ak človek začína bez grafického vzdelania a skúseností, ako napríklad ja. Veľmi dôležité je vedieť vyrovnať sa s kritikou. Každý si myslí, že vie, čo je pekné, takže k tomu vizuálnemu sa vyjadrujú všetci. Aj ľudia, ktorí o tom nič nevedia, aj ľudia, od ktorých sa môžete veľa naučiť. Treba vedieť rozlíšiť, kto kam patrí, koho ignorovať a koho počúvať. Niekedy je dosť ťažké pripustiť vlastné nedostatky.
